Russian Hill at Night (2008)

Landscapes and Locales
Ed Monroe uses a variety of materials and techniques to create a diverse repertoire of paintings and illustrations, including oils, acrylics, palette knife and brush, pen and ink with colored pencil, washes and splattering.
His San Francisco Bay Area home has not only inspiring and gorgeous natural landscaping but features many interesting structures. Monroe is aware that he uses landscape painting to strengthen his color and geometric skills for developing realistic art, but he is very aware that as he paints, he is making a historical record of the region even as it undergoes constant change.
